Secretary ECP Ishtiak Ahmad said that "Criticism against ECP is baseless"
He said that positive criticism is welcome but character assassination cannot be allowed.
He said Ishaq Khakwani of PTI s stance was fully heard by the Commission and it was decided that re-polling will not be held in that constituency as he could not satisfy the commission.
Ishtiaq said positive criticism is welcome but character assassination cannot be allowed. He said the democratic system and the country should not suffer due to undue criticism.
The Secretary Election Commission said with the exception of some stray incidents‚ elections were held peacefully and this has been acknowledged by the international community.
